I've had two different manitou's. The one above, and a black, and the problem with them is that the adjustments dials are just for show. The forks seemed to be realiable enough, and relatively smooth in operation, but they rebound and compression adjustments literally did nothing. I can't see myself ever purchasing a manitou product again.

I'd be 100% sold on the maelstrom if was 1 to 2 pounds lighter and didn't have the chainstay tunnel for the chain to run through. I'm looking for a lighter weight free-ride, heavy-ish AM bike with low a leverage ratio so my fat but can run lighter spring weights.

Well that's a radical departure from the Faith. I've been thinking about single pivots myself, but leaning towards other designs like the Corsair Maelstrom.

Uber nice. I've been thinking about the new Giant's, but I was kind of hoping for something with a lower leverage ratio so my fat arse can run lower spring weights.

This picture is awesome, and I hope that pinkbike does not delete it. The way I see it, something is racist if it either promotes an inaccurate sterotype, or promotes hatred. I don't think this picture does either. I think what this picture does is to bring light to tragic historical events in a questionably humorous fashion. Is the joke in "good taste"? That's questionable. But is a joke about any tragedy ever in good taste? But is this joke actually racist? I don't really think so.

So what material is the jacket made of, and is it crash-resistant?

How did they get "splayed" out of all that? Nothing has a "yd" in it. Should be something like "knorkoon" or "sporkife", or "fifeoon" or "spifeork".

Dude, you're WAY off topic. You also missed the point. In most parts of the world where the wild hogs are a problem (including many parts of the southern U.S.) they are not indigenous species, and therefore they have no natural predators. The problem is not the man killed of their predators, the problem is that man introduced a non-indigenous species into an ecology, and that species is now destroying the ecology. This kind of thing has happend all across the world. Rabbits in Australia, Beavers in South America, even a certain species of bull frog in Southern B.C., and the list goes on. That's one of the reasons why, if you ever travel abroad, you'll see signs at airports warning about not transporting any foreign plants or animals (fauna or flora).

I have a comp 16. The tread pattern was great, but the rubber was WAY too soft. After only a couple runs, the tread was burning out and lugs were tearing off. Hope they got this problem sorted out.

Pretty rare animal? You are obviously unimformed of the facts regarding wild hogs. In many parts of the world, wild hogs are overpopulated and are a blight to the landscape and cause serious ecological damage. Hunting the hogs is an important step in ecological conservation. Watch Discovery sometime....

I'm pretty sure that plowing is what this thing was intended for. It's a concept, eco-friendly piece of farm equipement, designed to be "farmer-powered" instead of by a diesel combustion engine.

Most Foes bikes are running a 2:1 compression ratio, meaning for every 2 inches of travel, the shock compresses 1 inch. The foes DH bike is 10' travel, meaning a 5 inch stroke shock. There are a lot of benefits to low compression ratios, and I can see it being the way of the future for high-performance bikes.
